Research with people affected by cancer from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities (CALD)

 

Investigating the unmet needs of people with cancer from CALD backgrounds in a population-based sample of people 2-5 years post-diagnosis, recruiting through Australian Cancer Registries (Unmet Needs Phases 1 and 2)

Investigating the unmet needs of people with cancer from CALD backgrounds in the first six months after diagnosis, recruiting through oncology clinics and hospitals in NSW and Victoria (Unmet Needs Phase 3)

The patients, families and carers involved in these studies are from Arabic, Greek and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) communities. These studies are guided by a Community Partners Advisory Board for each language. The Advisory Board members include health professionals, religious leaders, psychologists, social workers and consumer representatives.
