Psycho-oncology Co-operative Research Group (PoCoG) in collaboration with CanTeen, the Australian Organisation for Young People Living with Cancer, has established an AYA interest group.

The AYA interest group aims to provide the opportunity for people conducting targeted psycho-social research in the AYA area to participate in a professional network dedicated to them. This research may involve young cancer patients and young survivors of paediatric and adolescent cancer, as well as young people who have/have had a brother, sister or parent with cancer. It is hoped that this group will facilitate discussion and encourage new learning, increase network opportunities amongst AYA researchers and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Activities and resources include:

  • Dedicated Concept Development Workshops to encourage the development and implementation of new and innovative research studies in AYA psycho-oncology
  • Special seminars or discussion sessions on topics relevant for AYA researchers
  • A dedicated AYA interest group web page listing relevant resources or events
  • An AYA interest group email forum or blog
  • Opportunities for peer support and social gatherings
  • Updates on relevant training, conferences, publications, and current projects
