SA PoCoG, our dedicated interest group for psycho-oncology researchers and clinicians in South Australia, is hosting a webinar from 12pm - 130pm (1130am -100pm SA time)  on Thursday 22 October. 

The first event in our SA PoCoG Webinar Series showcases cutting edge work by our early career researchers and is an opportunity to hear the latest findings from the following studies : 

Identifying predictors of digital engagement for people with cancer – the roles of digital inclusion and digital literacy.

Dr Emma Kemp is an ECR and Postdoctoral Fellow in Psycho-oncology and Cancer Survivorship at Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer. This presentation will report on a mixed methods study aiming to determine ways in which health care engagement via digital health applications can be better supported for people with cancer living in socioeconomically disadvantaged circumstances, and will discuss the potential roles of digital inclusion/exclusion and digital health literacy levels.  

Developing a core set of patient-reported outcomes for cancer survivorship: a consensus study

Imogen Ramsey is a PhD candidate at the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre at UniSA. Her research focuses on understanding the physical, psychological, and social consequences of cancer, and how they are quantified using patient-reported outcomes. To standardise and inform the assessment of health-related quality of life for cancer research and policy, Imogen conducted a multi-stage study to obtain consensus on core cancer survivorship outcomes. 

The relationship between diet and cognitive function in breast and colorectal cancer survivors 

Daniel Coro is a current PhD candidate at the University of South Australia. His PhD explores the role that diet and nutrition play in cognitive function of breast and colorectal cancer survivors. This presentation will be a summary of his PhD research to date which includes published findings from a systematic review and a qualitative study, and the protocol of a current quantitative study.
