Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience higher rates of cancer and are more likely to die from the disease than non-Indigenous people.
They are also less likely to receive culturally appropriate supportive and psychosocial care when living with cancer.
A constitutionally enshrined Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament gives First Nations peoples of Australia a voice with the aspiration of informing decisions that improve the health and well-being of Indigenous people and reduce health disparities.
The leadership team of the Psycho-oncology Cooperative Research Group unequivocally accept the Uluru Statement from the Hearts’ invitation for all Australians to walk together for a better future. |
