Carers Conquer Fear

Carers Conquer Fear is an online program for people that provide care for an adult partner, family member or friend with cancer.

Who can take part

We are seeking people who:

  • Are aged 18 years or older

  • Provide(d) care for an adult friend or family member with cancer who has been diagnosed or experienced a cancer recurrence in the past 5 years

Additional criteria apply

What participation involves

  • Completion of 4 online surveys across the course of the study (3 months)

  • Doing an online program with 4 lessons, approx. 1 hour per week over 4 weeks

  • Some participants will be asked to take part in an interview to share their experiences with the online program

Ethics approval

This study has been granted ethical approval from the University of Sydney Human Research Ethics Committees (HREC) [Project no. 2025/HE000116].

Carers Conquer Fear is being conducted by researchers at the University of Sydney to examine the feasibility and acceptability of an online program to help carers of people with cancer manage fear and worry about their loved one’s cancer coming back.
