LGBTIQ+ Inclusivity Toolkit

Cancer LGBTIQ+ Inclusivity Toolkit

Developed by the Out with Cancer Study team at Western Sydney University, in collaboration with the McGrath Foundation and Breast Cancer Trials, the Toolkit is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to deliver inclusive, affirming and culturally safe care to LGBTIQ+ people affected by cancer.

Released in 2026, this evidence-based Toolkit draws on world-leading research from the Out with Cancer Study, which examined cancer survivorship and care from the perspective of 561 LGBTIQ+ people with cancer and their carers, and 357 healthcare professionals.

The course consists of online learning about working with LGBTIQ+ cancer patients and carers, with inclusion strategies, patient information resources, and a knowledge check combined into a single platform.
